Those Accused of Drug Crimes Entitled to A Criminal Defense

The battle against illegal drug use and trafficking continues in Tennessee. A recent investigation in Cheatham County resulted in the arrest of three people. The three are being held in Cheatham County Jail and are facing charges related to drug possession with intent to distribute as well as illegal weapons charges. As with others accused of criminal conduct, they are entitled to a criminal defense.

The case played out over a three-month long investigation that purportedly included undercover drug buys from one of the people arrested. The woman allegedly conducted at least five drug transactions with the undercover officer over the period of the investigation. The investigation recently ended when a warrant was issued for the arrest of the woman allegedly selling the drugs, along with two of her supposed associates. A search warrant for the property under surveillance was also issued.

When officers arrived at the location to execute the warrants, the woman reportedly hid in a bathroom. The officers employed flash bangs near the rear of the trailer and entered through a rear door. The woman and one other man were placed under arrest. Drugs allegedly found included meth and a substance believed to be either heroin or fentanyl. In addition, a number of possibly illegal weapons were seized, including a sawed-off shotgun and ammunition.
